Our Stages: Brooklyn & Burbank

Two locations

TinFilm US works from two stages: one in Brooklyn, New York and one in Burbank, California. We list only the cities here. Exact studio details are shared with clients and crew when a visit or shoot is booked.

Brooklyn, NY

Our Brooklyn stage is home to most of our puppet fabrication and set building. It has workbenches for armatures and sculpting, a paint and finishing area, and shooting space for tabletop sets. Many of our original shorts, including The Felt Lighthouse, are being developed here.

Burbank, CA

Our Burbank stage focuses on camera, lighting and motion control, with space for larger sets and longer camera moves. It is also where much of our stylized 3D look development and compositing happens, close to the practical plates being shot.

Working across both

Projects often move between the two stages. Puppets can be built in Brooklyn and shot in Burbank, or the other way around. We share a single schedule, a shared archive and the same review process, so for clients it feels like one studio.

Visiting a shoot

Clients are welcome on set by appointment during production. A visit usually includes a tour of the sets and puppets, time at the monitor to watch animation in progress and a chance to talk with the crew. Because stop-motion sets are delicate and lighting must stay consistent, visits are planned around the shooting schedule and visitors are accompanied at all times.

Reviewing remotely

Many clients never need to travel. We share daily stills and short clips, and on key shooting days we can arrange live review sessions so you can see a shot taking shape and give notes in real time. Everything you need to approve is collected in one place with clear notes on what has changed.

Working with local crews

For projects that need to shoot elsewhere, such as a live-action element or a location plate, we can travel a small unit or work alongside a local crew. We plan those shoots in the same written schedule as the rest of the project.
