Who we want to hear from
TinFilm US is a small, independent studio. We do not have a list of open positions to advertise at the moment, but we are always interested in hearing from talented people, especially:
- 3D look-dev artists who enjoy matching digital materials to real paper, felt, clay and wood
- Puppet fabricators with experience in armatures, sculpting, mold-making, casting or costume at miniature scale
- Stop-motion animators with a feel for weight, timing and small acting choices
- Set builders and model makers who love tiny worlds
- Sound designers and Foley artists who record with real materials
How to apply
Send an email to our careers address with a short introduction, a link to your reel or portfolio, your location and when you would be available. Please tell us which parts of each project in your reel you worked on. There is no application form, and you do not need to send a long cover letter.
We read every message, but we cannot always reply quickly. If a project comes up that fits your skills, we will be in touch.
How we work together
Most crew join us on a project basis at our stages in Brooklyn or Burbank, with some look-dev, 2D and sound work possible remotely. We aim for sensible hours even in stop-motion, where long days are a well-known temptation. A rested animator makes better frames.
We value care, curiosity and honesty. We want people who will say when something is not working, share what they know with less experienced crew, and enjoy the slow pleasure of building something real.
Students and early career
If you are a student or just starting out, we are still happy to see your work. Show us what you have made, even if it is small. A short, well-crafted test says more than a long reel.
Freelancers
We regularly work with freelance specialists for particular projects, from knitters who can work at miniature scale to composers with unusual instruments. If you have a niche craft skill, tell us about it. Some of our favorite collaborations started with an unexpected email.
