Festivals & Awards
An honest note on laurels, and how we prepare films for the festival circuit.
No laurels yet, and no pretending
This is the launch edition of the TinFilm US website. We do not have festival selections or awards to display, and we will not show any we have not earned. You will not find borrowed logos or vague nominee badges on this site. When our original films begin their festival lives, we will update this page with real, verifiable news.
Why festivals matter to us
Festivals are where short animation finds its first audiences, its first critics and often its future collaborators. For original projects like The Sunflower Forest and The Felt Lighthouse, festivals are an important part of the plan, and we prepare for them from the start of production rather than at the end.
How we prepare a film for submission
- Masters. We deliver cinema-ready masters and web screeners in the formats festivals typically request.
- Subtitles. Films with dialogue or on-screen text are prepared with subtitle files and textless versions.
- Press kits. Synopses, director's notes, production stills and behind-the-scenes images are collected during the shoot so they are ready when needed.
- Music and clearances. We document rights for music, voices and any third-party material so screenings are not delayed.
Festival strategy for partners
For co-production partners we can help plan a festival run: choosing which events fit the film, timing premieres, budgeting entry fees and preparing materials. We do not promise selections, because no honest studio can. What we can promise is a well-prepared film and a clear plan.
Get in touch
If you are a festival programmer, a co-production partner or a journalist interested in our original slate, please contact our press address. We are always happy to share stills, notes and private screening links of finished work when it is ready.
A note on our case studies
The projects on this site are illustrative launch-edition case studies. They describe how we work and the kind of films we make. They do not describe screenings, audiences or prizes, and we have deliberately left those claims out until there is something true to report.
