Material-true look development

Our stylized 3D work starts with real materials. Before building a digital surface, we gather physical samples of the paper, felt, clay or timber it should resemble and keep them on the desk while we work. Each digital material is matched against its physical twin under the same light, including the grain, the fuzz, the fingerprints and the slight imperfections that make it believable.

The goal is never photorealism for its own sake. It is the warmth of something handmade, with the flexibility of a digital pipeline.

Tactile shaders and simulation

We build custom shaders for paper that glows at its edges, felt that catches light in a soft halo, and clay with thumbprints and subtle surface wobble. Cloth and paper simulations let fabric drape and paper fold naturally, and we often animate on twos so motion keeps a gentle stop-motion cadence.

Hybrid with practical plates

Many of our favorite projects mix the two worlds. We build a small practical set, shoot it with a motion-control camera and place digital characters inside it, so reflections and shadows are real. This hybrid approach suits brands that need flexibility for changes and versions while keeping a handmade feel.

Previs and real-time

For larger projects we block out camera moves in a simple real-time previs pass. It helps everyone agree on framing and timing before animation begins, and it gives the stage crew exact moves to repeat on the practical set.

A 30-second stylized 3D spot typically takes four to six weeks after boards are approved, depending on the number of characters and shots.

When to choose 3D

Stylized 3D is a good fit when a film needs many versions, frequent changes late in the process, impossible camera moves or characters that would be too fragile to build physically. If your project needs the unmistakable wobble of real stop-motion, we will say so and suggest a practical or hybrid route instead.
