Police were able to zero in on a suspect from surveillance video in the neighborhood and tracked that person through a vehicle that arrived just before the killings and left afterward. Authorities found the vehicle in Rockford, Illinois.
Spencer and Monique Tepe were discovered on Dec. 30 fatally shot in their Columbus, Ohio, home when police conducted a well-being check. There was no sign of forced entry, and their two children, ages 1 and 4, and the family dog were found unharmed inside the residence.
McKee, who is being held in Winnebago County, is scheduled to appear in court in Illinois on Monday. Authorities are expected to begin extradition proceedings to transfer him to Ohio.

McKee, a Chicago resident, attended medical school at Ohio State University and has active licenses to be a vascular surgeon in Illinois and California, the Columbus Dispatch reported.
McKee and Monique Tepe were married in August 2015, according to Franklin County Domestic Court records. She filed for divorce in 2017, according to court records. They did not have any children
