Prominent Coach and His Wife Ki:/ll/ed in Devastating Crash in Mullica Hill

A legendary coach at Clearview Regional High School and his wife have died in a fiery motor vehicle accident in Mullica Hill, authorities say.

Tom and Lisa Hengel were fatally injured when their SUV crashed into a home on the first block of Banff Drive and caught fire at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, according to Harrison Township police.

The Mullica Hill couple were Banff Drive residents, according to township tax records.

Tom Hengel, 72, was a track and cross country coach for the Clearview Pioneers. He was inducted into the Gloucester County Sports Hall of Fame in March 2018.
