CLAREMONT, Bronx (WABC) — The FDNY is battling a large five-alarm fire that broke out at a deli and spread to the apartments above in the Claremont section of the Bronx early Monday morning.
Fire crews have been working at the scene on Findlay Avenue in the Claremont section since about 3:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters were hindered by cars parked in front of fire hydrants.
Authorities say the heavy fire spread from the deli to the second floor and through the five-story apartment building
Two firefighters and one resident are receiving treatment for minor injuries.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
Some residents were left homeless and are being kept warm in an MTA bus.
