The sheriff investigating the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has said “we’re moving on” after a man was briefly detained by cops in relation to the investigation.

Arizona local Luke Daley was detained after a SWAT raid was conducted on his home on February 13. He was released without charge after being held for several hours and has denied having any involvement in Nancy’s kidnapping. Luke is not a suspect in the case.

His mom, Mary Daley, was also detained during the raid but was also later released. Mary is not considered a suspect. It comes after a criminal attorney revealed the 6 huge red flags in Nancy’s case that “don’t add up.”

Speaking to true crime podcaster Briana Whitney, he said, “What I will say is, we had what we believed to be probable cause to take action against both those individuals and the residences they occupied.

“That probable cause that we felt was strong was given to the U.S. attorney, the county attorney and a magistrate, a judge.” He continued, “They agreed that, yes, here’s a warrant, go perform your duties. That court order, that warrant, in both cases, was served and we got what we got from it and we’re moving on.”

Luke has also spoken out since he was detained by cops. Speaking on Briana’s True Crime Arizona show, he insisted he has nothing to do with Nancy’s disappearance and said he’s not the man seen in doorbell camera footage outside her home on the day she vanished.

“It’s not me. I don’t see the resemblance of it looking like me. Absolutely not. I have nothing to do with this case,” the 37-year-old said.

Luke explained what happened when he was taken in by police, saying he was pulled over in a Culver’s parking lot after being followed by two cop cars. He recalled on the show, “They had me cuffed in the back of a cop car, detained. I was asking them like, ‘What am I being detained for?'”

Luke added, “They wouldn’t tell me anything, they just said that the detectives would be there to talk to me.” When the FBI arrived at the scene, he realized he was being detained in relation to Nancy’s case.

He said, “I’m like, ‘This should be easy. I have nothing to do with this, so it should be not a big deal to clear my name and move on.’ But the whole time during the questioning, it seemed like more of a fishing expedition for them to try to get me to say something… I’m like, ‘All you’d have to do is look at my phone and see my location. It was nowhere near anywhere.'”

Luke’s attorney Chris Scileppi explained how his client was the subject of two search warrants that were issued and served on February 13. In a statement he shared, “Daley and his mother were both detained by law enforcement while the search warrants were being executed.”

He added, “Neither Daley nor his mother were arrested in connection to this case or any other.” The attorney insisted his client has “no link whatsoever to Nancy Guthrie and has no information related to her kidnapping,” adding, “Like the entire Tucson community, both Daley and his mother are hopeful that Nancy will be returned to her family unharmed.”
