The female flight attendant’s body was discovered early in the morning near a dumpster on the resort grounds.
Police are investigating after a Southwest Airlines flight attendant was found dead in Hawaii while on a layover.
Jenny Lupton, 50, was staying in Honolulu on a layover when her body was found in the early hours of Aug. 20, 2026, on the grounds of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort in Waikiki.
Police believe Lupton fell from the balcony of her 24th-floor hotel room, according to reports.
It reportedly took police 24 hours to notify Lupton’s family, who are asking for an investigation into her death.
Family members say Lupton would not have taken her own life and left behind her teenage son. Lupton’s sister had texted with her shortly before her death, according to News 9, and the family said the hotel has told them there are 70 surveillance cameras in the area.
After Lupton’s body was discovered near a dumpster, medical professionals determined that her injuries were consistent with a fall.
