Greg Biffle’s Parents Report Shocking Phone Call From Cockpit Five Minutes Before Fatal Crash; 10-Second Scream Now Central to Investigation
The parents of Greg Biffle have reported a deeply disturbing phone call they say came from their son’s aircraft just five minutes before it crashed, a revelation that investigators believe could prove pivotal in determining what happened to Biffle, his wife, and their children.
⚠️ Clarification: Authorities emphasized that this individual is not the NASCAR driver of the same name, but a private citizen.
According to a police report filed earlier today, Biffle’s parents told investigators they received a brief, unexpected call originating from the cockpit. The call lasted only seconds, but during that time they allegedly heard what they described as a sudden, terrified scream lasting approximately 10 seconds, followed by an abrupt disconnection.
“Nothing Like Mechanical Trouble”
Family members said there were no spoken words, no explanation, and no background conversation—only a scream filled with panic.
“They said it didn’t sound like turbulence or stress,” a law enforcement source familiar with the report said. “They described it as fear—pure fear—coming from inside the cockpit.”
The call’s timestamp places it roughly five minutes before radar contact with the aircraft was lost, aligning closely with the estimated time of the crash.
Investigators are now working to verify the call through phone carrier records, cockpit electronics, and aircraft communication systems to confirm its origin and authenticity.
Investigation Takes a Darker Turn
Until now, authorities had focused on mechanical failure or sudden in-flight emergency as the most likely causes of the crash. The newly reported phone call has forced investigators to broaden their scope to include external interference, sudden cockpit intrusion, or violent confrontation.
Sources say investigators are now:
Analyzing whether cockpit systems could have enabled an outbound call
Comparing the audio description with recovered cockpit voice data
Reassessing whether more than one person may have been active in the cockpit during the final minutes
“A scream of that nature, so close to the crash, raises questions that can’t be ignored,” said a former aviation safety investigator. “It suggests something abrupt and extreme occurred.”
Family Devastated
In a brief statement released through their attorney, Biffle’s parents said the call has left them “completely shattered” and desperate for answers.
“Those ten seconds will haunt us forever,” the statement read. “We just want to know what happened to our son and his family.”
Authorities have not confirmed whether Biffle’s wife or children were heard during the call, and they declined to speculate on who—or what—may have caused the scream.
What Happens Next
Investigators stress that the case remains active and that no conclusions have been reached. Officials cautioned the public against speculation as forensic analysis continues on recovered aircraft components, digital records, and communication logs.
Still, sources acknowledged the significance of the report.
“If verified,” one official said, “this phone call could fundamentally change how we understand the final moments of that flight.”
More details are expected to be released as investigators complete technical verification of the call and integrate it with other emerging evidence in the case.
