The vascular surgeon was employed by OSF Saint Anthony when he allegedly trekked some 325 miles to Columbus, Ohio, where he’s accused of gunning down Monique and Spencer Tepe on Dec. 30.

McKee was taken into custody after police traced his car to the Tepes’ home the night of the heinous killings.

Columbus police have described the murders as a “targeted” domestic violence act and revealed cops have recovered the gun believed to have been used to fatally shoot Spencer and Monique, who McKee was married to for two years.

The former couple’s short-lived marriage ended in 2017, when Monique, 39, filed for divorce.

While court records indicated the split was amicable, her grief-stricken family has since spoken out, accusing McKee of being emotionally abusive during their brief marriage.

The pair had no children together.

Monique married her second husband, Spencer, a 37-year-old prominent local dentist, in December 2020, according to their obituary.

Prosecutors alleged the suspected gunman used a silencer when he snuck into the Tepe’s Columbus home in the middle of the night and shot them dead in their bedroom, leaving their two children, ages 4 and 1, unharmed in another room.

Investigators have not determined a motive in the killings.

McKee, who holds medical licenses in both Illinois and California, was indicted on four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary. What do you think? Post a comment.
