More Info On Ransom Note Sent And Blood Found In Nancy Guthrie Case

A troubling new development has surfaced in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old Arizona woman and mother of Savannah Guthrie.

According to CBS News, a ransom note was sent to a local Arizona news station on Monday. The message reportedly demanded payment in exchange for her return.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the station received the note and immediately turned it over to investigators. Authorities say the letter included very specific details about Nancy’s home and what she was wearing the night she disappeared. However, Sheriff Chris Nanos said they cannot yet verify whether the information is accurate or if the note itself is legitimate.

Even so, detectives are treating it seriously.

Nanos said the Federal Bureau of Investigation has reviewed the note and is now assisting with the case. The contents were shared directly with the family, and investigators had hoped to keep the details private while they worked to determine its authenticity. However, somehow TMZ ended up with a copy of the note.

Law enforcement also acknowledged reports circulating about possible ransom demands and said any tips or communications are being routed straight to detectives working alongside federal agents.

Another concern: surveillance video from Nancy’s home has not produced any clear leads so far. Investigators believe the system may have automatically deleted footage after a short period of time. They are now attempting to recover any lost video using forensic technology.

At this stage, authorities have not confirmed whether the ransom message is connected to Nancy’s disappearance or if it could be a hoax trying to exploit a high-profile case.

Additionally, a video posted by News Nation’s Brian Entin shows what appears to be blood outside of Nancy’s front door.

What is clear is that this remains an active and urgent investigation involving local detectives and the FBI.

Nancy is considered a vulnerable adult, and officials continue to ask anyone with information to contact law enforcement immediately.
