The award being offered is $2500, which many feel is surprisingly low for such a high-profile case.

“$2500 reward? Geez I would offer a lot more than that just for my missing pet,” one person commented on a Facebook post by NewsNation.

“You forget some zeros??” someone else said.

“$2500 to get a mama back is wild! i’d offer up more than that if my cat was missing,” echoed a third Facebook user.

“Got to be more to this $2500 than meets the eye. The whole story is strange,” a fourth comment read.

Some social media users believe that the reward amount may have been advised by authorities as to control the amount of false leads.

Nancy was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills of Arizona on Saturday, January 31. Authorities believe that Nancy may have been kidnapped from her home in the middle of the night.
