Calvin Kidnaps Charmaine’s Twins In Season 8—And Jack Is Forced To Pay The Ultimate Price!

Charmaine thought the worst was behind her after finally giving birth to her twins, but the nightmare in Virgin River is just beginning. A massive Season 8 script leak reveals that the ruthless cartel boss Calvin, who was revealed to be the twins’ biological father, has zero intention of playing house. He is back, he is desperate, and he is about to cross an unforgivable line.

The Ultimate Ransom Trap Calvin is currently being hunted by a rival cartel faction led by Everett Reid (Mel’s biological father). Cornered and completely out of escape funds, Calvin decides to weaponize his own flesh and blood. In a horrifying twist, he kidnaps the newborn twins right out from under Charmaine’s nose.

But Calvin isn’t stupid—he knows Charmaine doesn’t have the kind of money he needs to disappear. Instead of ransoming the babies back to their mother, he targets the one man with a hero complex big enough to pay: Jack Sheridan.

Jack’s Impossible Choice Jack is forced into a devastating corner. The ransom demand is astronomical, matching the exact amount of the life savings he and Mel have set aside for their upcoming wedding, their new home, and their own future child. If Jack goes to the police—especially with the corrupt Detective Mike involved—the babies could disappear into the criminal underworld forever. To save the children of the woman who lied to him for months, Jack will have to sacrifice the beautiful future he promised Mel.

Will there be a new season of Virgin River in 2026?

As of right now, Virgin River will not return with new episodes in 2026.

Despite what seems like a bit of bad news, don’t lose hope just yet! Tim recently gave the best Instagram update, and it turns out Virgin River is officially in production for season 8.

“And just like that, we’re officially back on set filming season 8 of #VirginRiver!” he wrote in the caption on April 22. “Here’s a little behind-the-scenes from season 7… we have a lot of fun behind those cameras, and I think that’s part of what makes the town feel so real 🙏🏻.”

Naturally, Tim’s announcement about Virgin River had fans in the comments hyped up.

“Happy filming! We love what you guys churn out for the fans. ❤️❤️❤️,” one person wrote. “I’m so happy that you’re going to shoot season 8 soon!! These shooting photos are too beautiful 💖✨,” another agreed. “Cannot wait!! Best show ever ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥,” a different follower added.

But fans should note that Virgin River may look a little different when season 8 eventually airs on Netflix. Mainly, a casting shakeup occurred at the end of season 7, with Marco Grazzini (Mike Valenzuela) and Lauren Hammersley (Charmaine Roberts) both exiting the show ahead of the new season.

No matter the case, we’ll be counting down the days to see what Virgin River has in store!
