2-month update: Renee Good’s family unexpectedly speaks out about her death and makes the latest statement to authorities…: They are ready.

The family of Renee Good revealed in a new interview that they have still not heard from President Donald Trump since Good was shot and killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in January.

“There’s a reason that we hired our own investigators — to make sure that the truth is transparent and available, to make sure that this is really taken seriously and to make sure that we know what occurred,” Good’s brother Brett Ganger told NBC News on Thursday, Feb. 26, after revealing that no one from the Trump administration has been in touch with the family since Good was killed.

In the aftermath of Good’s death, Trump, 79, claimed that Good’s father Tim Ganger supported him.

“When I learned her parents, and her father in particular, I hope he still is, but I don’t know, were tremendous Trump fans. He was all for Trump. Loved Trump, and it’s terrible,” the president said during a Jan. 20 press conference. “I was told that by a lot of people. They said, ‘Oh, he loves you.’ He was. I hope he still feels that way.”

Vice President JD Vance described the circumstances of Good’s death as “an attack on federal law enforcement” as well as “the American people” while speaking to reporters from the White House on Jan. 8.

The family is “a very American blend,” Good’s brother Luke Ganger said in his recent Congressional testimony, according to a new interview published in the Associated Press on Friday, Feb. 27. “We vote differently, and we rarely completely agree on the finer details of what it means to be a citizen of this country.”

However, “we have always treated each other with love and respect,” Luke added.

Good’s mother Donna Ganger said she had previously “prayed for guidance,” adding that “Before all this happened I said ‘Make me a wise woman,'” per the AP. Good’s father Tim Ganger declined to confirm his political affiliation in his interview with the AP.

“It’s the complete antithesis of who she was to die in that way. It doesn’t feel real still,” Good’s brother, Brent Ganger, told CBS Evening News in an interview on Friday.

Echoing the sentiment of Good’s legacy, Donna Ganger later told the AP, “She had this way of making you feel special and loved that I didn’t even understand that until we lost her.”

Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on Jan. 7 while she was driving in the car with her wife and dog, shortly after she dropped her six-year-old off at school. She died from a gunshot wound to the head, and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Good was 37. On Jan. 14, Romanucci & Blandin, a Chicago-based law firm, said they were now representing Good’s family, her partner and siblings, and were launching a civil investigation into the shooting.

Video footage appeared to capture the moments before Good was fatally shot. Shared on Jan. 9 by Alpha News and described by the organization as being from the agent’s perspective, the video showed the confrontation between Good and the masked officer, who was later identified as Jonathan Ross.

In the footage, Renee was seen reversing the car and then turning the wheel as she drives forward, in the direction of the roadway, with her wife Becca saying, “Drive, baby, drive — drive!” At that point, multiple gunshots were heard.

Good’s family told NBC News that they have not watched the footage.

“I can’t bring myself to do that,” Brent said, with Tim adding that the family “intentionally just let that go.”

“We’re the ones who know Renee. No one else knows Renee,” Luke told NBC News. “There’s a bunch of opinions and whatever, but we’re the ones who know her, and those other things aren’t going to change that.”

Since Good’s death, federal agents have continued raids in Minnesota, and a border patrol agent shot and killed Alex Pretti on Jan. 24. Pretti was 37, and had worked as an ICU nurse.
