LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ind. — Two people are dead after reportedly driving into a flooded stretch of Lawrence County near the East Fork of the White River.

According to the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, Kasee Allman, 21, of Bedford, and Jesse Brock, 35, of Leesville, were reported missing on Sunday after family had been unable to contact the pair since Saturday. The two were last seen in Paoli, the sheriff’s department said, and were believed to be heading to Brock’s home near Leesville.

The pair never arrived, however. Using cellphone app location data, police determined Allman and Brock were in the area of Earl Road and Lawrenceport Road at roughly 10 p.m. on Saturday. This section of road is a flooded area near the East Fork White River.

With no other cellphone data, police tried to search the last known area of the pair but said a majority of the roadways were underwater due to flooding. The sheriff’s department fear the pair drove into the floodwaters.

Over the next two days, conservation officers and state police assisted Lawrence County deputies in the search for Allman and Brock. The agencies used boats, underwater sonar, drones and helicopters.

On Tuesday morning, conservation officers located the truck Allman and Brock were traveling in when they vanished. Both Allman and Brock were found deceased inside the vehicle, which was found in approximately 8 feet of water.

Family members have been notified as the case moves from a missing persons case into a death investigation.
