Outlander Season 8 took a little break last week, but new episodes of the hit show will be back on Starz before you know it.
Outlander‘s eighth and final season has been wrapping up some of the show’s most long-running storylines in dramatic and sentimental fashion. We’ve finally learned the truth about what happened to Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) first child, Faith, seen Young Ian (John Bell) reunited with his firstborn son, and bid farewell to Fergus (César Domboy), a plucky French pickpocket adopted and raised as a Fraser. Just last week, we got to see William (Charles Vandervaart) finally accept Jamie as his birth father while we also learned that Fanny (Florrie May Wilkinson) is also a time traveler like her grandmother and aunt.
This week’s penultimate episode of Outlander will put the focus on Lord John Grey (David Berry), who was kidnapped by the villainous Captain Ezekiel Richardson (Ben Lambert) at the end of Outlander Season 8 Episode 8. What does Richardson want with Lord John? Will Jamie and Claire be able to help their friend? More importantly, will the fractured friendship between Jamie and John ever be mended?

Is Outlander on Netflix? When Will Outlander Season 8 Be on Netflix?
Outlander Season 1-6 and Season 7 Part 1 are streaming on Netflix, but you can’t watch Outlander Season 8 (or Season 7 Part 2) there.
New episodes of Outlander don’t usually come out on Netflix until approximately two years after they’ve aired on Starz. How Does Outlander End? Will Outlander Season 8 End Like the Books?
We won’t know how Outlander ends until the final episode drops on Friday, May 15. In fact, most of the cast and crew don’t even know how it ends! That’s because they shot multiple endings to the epic show.
When DECIDER visited the set of Outlander Season 8 back in 2024, Heughan did tell journalists that one of the possible endings he read was very close to what Diana Gabaldon secretly told him was going to be her ending in the books.
“Who knows what the actual ending will be? I don’t know specifically. We’re going to shoot various endings, but I don’t know which one they will use,” Heughan said. “But I think one of the ideas, one I’ve been asking for pushing for, is very similar to like how Diana’s book will end.”
