Chilling Detail: Just years before prosecutors say he killed her, a 25-year-old woman posted an emotional message celebrating the man who would later become her accused killer
A 25-YEAR-OLD student who was allegedly raped and murdered by her obsessive brother-in-law had shared a gushing tribute to him on the day he married her sister.
Joseph Horner, 27, was “obsessed” with Victoria Castle, 25, for nearly a decade before he attacked her while his wife was on holiday, police said.
Music teacher Horner is accused of raping and killing his sister-in-law at his Long Island home.
Victoria had hauntingly called him “one of the most wonderful people in the world” in an Instagram post the day he married her sister.
She posted a photo of her now-accused killer and her newlywed sister sharing a kiss.
Victoria wrote: “My sister, my person, my partner in chaos, is now married to one of the most wonderful people in the world.”
She added: “I love you both forever!”
Less than three years later, her brother-in-law would be accused of sexually assaulting and killing her.
The alleged rape and murder took place while Horner’s wife was away on a bachelorette trip.
Victoria had been studying for a PhD at Stony Brook University.
Horner and his alleged victim lived in the same block of flats.
Police said Horner invited Victoria up to the apartment he shared with his wife to help him move a piano.
He then allegedly sexually assaulted his sister-in-law and strangled her.
The suspected rapist and murderer then called 911 at 8:45am, said Nassau County Police Department.
Cops said he told officers that he had choked his sister-in-law and had sex with her.
Horner was arrested at the scene and later charged with second-degree murder.
Victoria was rushed to hospital, but died within an hour of the 911 call.
A Nassau prosecutor said he saw an opportunity to act on his “sexual desire” while his wife was away.
The school has placed the music teacher on administrative leave pending further investigation.
Horner denies all charges.
