Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s son Jake and daughter Romy issued a new statement Monday, following the brutal murder of their parents. Their brother, Nick, has been arrested and charged in the deaths.
“Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received,” said a new statement from the siblings’ spokesperson shared with Eyewitness News on Monday. “They will share information about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date.”

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has released the bodies of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner to their family.
The Reiners were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood home Sunday. Earlier this week, the medical examiner determined the 78-year-old Hollywood director and his wife died from “multiple sharp force injuries.”
Their son, Nick Reiner, was arrested Sunday evening in Exposition Park and faces two counts of first-degree murder in the killing of his parents.
The 32-year-old Reiner, who has a history of mental health and addiction issues, is due back in court Jan. 7. He was wearing a blue suicide prevention smock and handcuffs when he made his first court appearance Wednesday.
Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell said on Eyewitness News that his detectives are working closely with the district attorney’s office.
“It’s just really beginning at this phase for all of us, the analysis,” McDonnell said. “The technical investigation division does an in-depth and very thorough analysis of all the crime scene evidence. That will be ongoing. So, yeah, it is really truly a team effort.”
