“Marshals ”Finale Clip: Belle and Cal Get Shot at in Dramatic Cliffhanger Scene (Exclusive)

Two characters’ fates will be left to chance in the Marshals finale.

PEOPLE has an exclusive clip from the season 1 finale, which airs this Sunday, May 24, featuring a scene with Belle (Arielle Kebbel) and Cal (Logan Marshall-Green).

As the clip begins, Belle tells Cal she’s going to “tag along” with him to Salt Lake City, which surprises him.

“What happened to respecting workplace boundaries?” Cal asks her. “You know Utah’s got couches and Bourbon. Things could get messy.” He’s referring to the kiss they shared earlier this season — on a couch in their office, after drinking bourbon — and their mutual agreement to not get more romantically involved with each other.

“Well, I’ve been reminded I can handle messy,” Belle says. “Besides, we both deserve a partner that’s got our six.”

Cal then grabs Belle’s hand and seems to pull her into him. Their faces get close but don’t quite touch, and the intimate moment seems to rattle Belle.

They then approach the trailer, where Belle sees a man through the window who has been shot dead, which puts her and Cal on their guard.

As they prepare to break into the trailer, a car pulls up and the driver locks eyes with Cal, smirking, before driving away to reveal two gunmen. They both fire on Belle and Cal, and the screen cuts to black, leaving the two characters’ fates up in the air — and raising new questions about who is hunting them.

Marshall-Green, 49, previously told PEOPLE that Marshals season 1 ends with a “cliffhanger” as he discussed the budding romance between Cal and Belle, who he said “become very intimate — but not just physically, in other ways too.”

“I’m looking forward to picking up those stakes again very, very quickly, when we get back to shooting season 2 in just a few weeks,” he said at CBS Fest 2026 in April.

Belle and Cal’s kiss “felt earned in a way,” he said, as he teased that their romance would “continue to be something we earn throughout the season.”

The season 1 finale of Marshals airs Sunday, May 24, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
