When we last left Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) on Fraser’s Ridge, they were still reeling from some major emotional developments. Fergus Fraser (César Domboy) had perished in a fire, saving his two sons, leaving a pregnant Marsali (Lauren Lyle) alone with their four additional surviving children. After explaining to Jamie why Fergus was reluctant to accept his inheritance as the Comte St. Germain’s (Stanley Weber) legal heir, he assured her that Fergus would always be his son.
Speaking of Jamie’s children, William (Charles Vandervaart) arrived at the Ridge and eventually confessed to Jamie that he worshiped him as a young boy. Father and son finally make peace, culminating in a tender embrace. Jamie also learned this week that Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) gave Brianna (Sophie Skelton) the nickname “Deadeye” on account of her incredible sharpshooting skills. That meant that he didn’t write his history of the Carolinas to torment Jamie, but to guide Bree through a potential future time traveling in the past.
And on the time travel note, it seems we’ve got some more superpowered beings in Outlander! An emerald cracked in Fanny’s (Florrie May Wilkinson) hand and she heard the telltale buzzing that Claire, Bree, and Roger (Richard Rankin) all experience close to the stones.
Last week’s episode of Outlander ended with Lord John Grey (David Berry) falling into a trap and getting captured by Captain Richardson (Ben Lambert)! Will the newly reconciled Jamie and William be able to save him? When will the next episode of Outlander come out?

Outlander is taking a little break this week. Starz often takes a break in between the penultimate and final episodes of a TV season to create more hype for the finale. This time, however, they’ve scheduled the skip week ahead of the second-to-last episode.

Is Outlander on Netflix? When Will Outlander Season 8 Be on Netflix?
Unfortunately, the latest season of Outlander is not streaming on Netflix yet. Right now you can only watch Outlander Seasons 1-6 and Season 7 Part 1 there.
New episodes of Outlander don’t usually arrive on Netflix until about two years after they’ve aired on Starz. That means if you want to know how Jamie and Claire’s story ends, you’re going to have to subscribe to Starz. Otherwise, you need to wait until 2028 for the final episodes to arrive on Netflix.

Nope! Outlander Season 8 is the final season of Outlander.
That said, it’s not the last of the Outlander saga we’ll see on Starz. Prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood returns for a second season later this fall.
How Does Outlander End? Will Outlander Season 8 End Like the Books?
As of right now, no one except Outlander executive producers Matthew B. Roberts and Maril Davis know how Jamie and Claire’s story ends. That’s because Roberts wrote multiple endings for the cast to shoot.
When DECIDER visited the set of Outlander Season 8 back in 2024, Sam Heughan did tell journalists that one of the possible endings he read was very close to what Diana Gabaldon told him was going to be her ending in the books.
“Who knows what the actual ending will be? I don’t know specifically. We’re going to shoot various endings, but I don’t know which one they will use,” Heughan said. “But I think one of the ideas, one I’ve been asking for pushing for, is very similar to like how Diana’s book will end.”
The Outlander series finale will premiere on Starz on Friday, May 15.
