Both men were travelling with Joshua, who is believed to have landed in the country on Sunday for a week-long holiday and was travelling in the back of the vehicle when it crashed.

Joshua in ‘stable condition’ after car crash that killed two of his close pals

Two others were pronounced dead at the scene and Joshua was taken to hospital with minor injuries after he was seen being pulled from the wreckage.

A statement from an official spokesperson for Anthony Joshua said: “Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident in Lagos, Nigeria, earlier today.

“With profound sadness it has been confirmed that two close friends and team members Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele have tragically passed away.

“Our deepest condolences and prayers are with the families and friends of all those affected – and we ask that their privacy is respected at this incredibly difficult time.”
