The mysterious disappearance of Nancy Guthrie continues to draw national attention as investigators search for answers nearly six weeks after she vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona. Authorities believe the 84-year-old may have been abducted after suspicious evidence was discovered outside her residence.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update: Why Nancy Grace Does Not Suspect the Family?

Legal analyst Nancy Grace recently addressed the case while speaking at the Variety True Crime Summit during the South by Southwest event in Austin.

Grace said she does not believe Nancy Guthrie’s family played any role in her disappearance. She explained that her view is based on her personal impression of Savannah Guthrie, whom she met years ago.

“For one reason, and one reason only, I do not believe the Guthrie family is responsible, because although it was many years ago that I first met Savannah Guthrie, she is, I’d like to assure you, not a fake TV person,” Grace said. “She’s real. She is real, just like she is on TV. She’s super-smart. She’s a trained lawyer.”

Grace also pointed to Savannah Guthrie’s behaviour during a memorial gathering held after her mother went missing.

“She walked up to that flower memorial with her arm around her brother-in-law, and I just do not believe, I find it impossible to believe that Savannah would do that if she suspected he was involved,” she said, adding that this was the “reason alone”.

Grace acknowledged that investigators often examine family members first in missing person cases, but said she does not think that applies here.

“You are all true crime, legal aficionados, you would say you look at the family first. Of course you do, because statistically, that’s who did it. But I don’t think that’s who did it in this case,” Grace said.

Nancy Guthrie Case Update: What Investigators Say About the Kidnapping?

Investigators believe Nancy Guthrie may have been abducted from her home.

Authorities discovered drops of blood on the front porch of her residence, which raised immediate concerns about possible foul play. This evidence led officials to believe someone may have taken her from the property.

The investigation also took a major turn when the FBI released doorbell camera footage showing a suspicious man on Guthrie’s porch on the night she disappeared.

According to investigators, the individual wore a ski mask, gloves, long trousers and a jacket. He also appeared to have a handgun holster and was carrying a 25-litre Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.

Authorities described the suspect as about 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build. However, officials have not yet publicly identified the person seen in the footage.

Reports have also surfaced about possible ransom messages demanding cryptocurrency payments for Nancy Guthrie’s release, although investigators have not confirmed whether those communications are genuine.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest Update: Is Nancy Guthrie Still Missing?

Yes, Nancy Guthrie is still missing, and authorities continue to investigate the case.

Officials have stated that they believe the suspect may have had a specific reason for targeting her. However, investigators have not fully ruled out the possibility that the crime could pose a broader threat.

Chris Nanos, the sheriff involved in the case, said authorities have developed a theory about what may have happened but are still verifying details.

“We believe we know why he did this, and we believe that it was targeted. But we can’t—we’re not 100 per cent sure of that, so it would be silly to tell people: ‘Yeah, don’t worry about it. You’re not his target,” Nanos told NBC News.

Investigators continue to examine evidence and follow leads that could help locate Nancy Guthrie and identify the suspect.
