Some believe that the photo posted on social media by the girlfriend of the Ukrainian tycoon’s son while they were traveling in Bali (Indonesia) inadvertently revealed their location to the kidnappers.
The son of a crime boss in Ukraine was kidnapped and his body mutilated.
The incident, which is currently causing a stir in international media, involves the kidnapping of Igor Komarov (a Ukrainian national) while he was traveling with his girlfriend in Bali, Indonesia. The kidnappers subsequently demanded a huge ransom from his family.
Initial investigations indicate that Komarov was ambushed and kidnapped by a group of people on February 15th in the Jimbaran area. This is a popular coastal area in Bali, known for its many Russian and Ukrainian tourists.

The suspects used a convoy of vehicles to carry out the kidnapping in a “military-style” manner. The victim was then taken to a luxury villa on the west coast of Bali.
Here, he was tortured, drugged, and his body was mutilated.
According to the investigation, Komarov was forced to appear in a video demanding a ransom of up to $10 million from a wealthy Ukrainian businessman.
According to the New York Post , the victim’s father is believed to be an influential figure in the business and criminal circles of Dnipro, Ukraine. He is frequently mentioned in organized crime structures in the area. The kidnapping was most likely for ransom.
However, the victim was ultimately murdered. Parts of the victim’s body were recently discovered at the mouth of a river on Bali. At this point, the body was so badly decomposed that it was impossible to identify with the naked eye.

According to police, the severed head and other body parts were found in a river on the island. Several clues, including a chest tattoo and bruised eyes, strongly suggest a match for 28-year-old Komarov.
The mystery was only solved when Bali police sent bone samples to the national forensic laboratory in Jakarta for DNA testing.
Bali police spokesperson Ariasandy said that DNA profiles from the body parts were compared to reference samples from the victim’s parents and the results matched.
“We compared DNA profiles from the body parts with samples from the victim’s parents. The results showed a match,” he said.
Forensic doctor Nola Margaret Gunawan, who is conducting the autopsy at Ngurah General Hospital, also confirmed that the test results are 99.9% accurate.
She had previously stated that the DNA testing process could take about a month. However, due to the significant public attention the case has received, the process has been expedited.
Did the girlfriend accidentally reveal her location to the kidnappers?
Bali police have identified seven suspects in connection with the kidnapping, dismemberment, and murder of the victim.
One suspect, a foreign national identified by the initials CH, was arrested on Lombok Island, a neighboring island of Bali. He is believed to have rented one of the vehicles used in the kidnapping and entered Indonesia using a fake passport.
CH told police that he didn’t know the car would be used to commit a crime and was only hired to do a rental job for $500 (13 million VND).

Meanwhile, four other suspects have left Bali via the international airport. The remaining two are believed to still be at large in Bali or another Indonesian province. All have been placed on Indonesia’s wanted list and an Interpol red notice.
A source close to the investigation further revealed that another suspect, confirmed to be an Indonesian citizen, has also been arrested for issuing fake passports to the Republic of Vietnam.
Before the murder occurred, Komarov was reportedly traveling in Bali with his girlfriend, Eva Mishalova, a social media influencer with nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram.
Some believe that the photo Mishalova posted on her personal page, capturing a moment of the two of them together with the caption “I love you every day,” may have inadvertently revealed the victim’s location to the kidnappers.
After the incident, Mishalova kept the photo on her personal page and continued posting other content while traveling in Bali.
Five days after her boyfriend was kidnapped, the girl was still posting videos promoting cosmetics and a clip of her dancing at the famous Savaya Bali club.
To date, Mishalova has not responded to press inquiries about the incident.
