THE DEADLINE to pay the ransom for Nancy Guthrie is now just hours away.
The kidnappers have reportedly asked for $6 million by Monday, February 9, at 5pm MST – less than 14 hours from now – according to a ransom note sent to multiple media outlets.
The note threatened Nancy’s life if the ransom is not paid.
They have asked for the money in Bitcoin in exchange for the save return of Savannah Guthrie‘s 84-year-old mother. A second note was reportedly sent to another outlet on Friday, with sensitive information but no deadline.
It comes as police have been in and out of Annie Guthrie’s Arizona home holding brown bags.
The home – around four miles from Nancy’s – was searched from around 8pm to 10.30pm local time.

‘HERE’S THE DEAL’
Nancy Guthrie ‘safe but scared,’ ransom says, as cops get ‘desperate’

FBI issues $50,000 reward for info on Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance
One official was seen leaving with a white suitcase containing evidence processing tools, reports PEOPLE, and brown bags for evidence.
Their contents is not known.
Nancy’s home is being guarded by the sheriff’s department to stop trespassers, at the request of her family.
“No trespassing is allowed on Nancy Guthrie’s property,” their statement read.
“Violations will be subject to enforcement.”
‘We beg you now to return our mother’
In a video shared to Instagram, Nancy’s three children – Savannah, Annie and Camron – held hands as The Today Show host sent a message to kidnappers.
She said in the short video: “We received your message, and we understand.
“We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her.
“This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
It is not known which note they were responding to, as several have been sent to the family and news stations.
Dr. Bryanna Fox, University of South Florida criminology professor and former FBI agent, told The Daily Mail that each ransom note must be treated as legitimate “because the risk associated with not doing so is too great”.
“The fact they are now negotiating and willing to engage means they believe there is some validity behind [the notes],” she told The Mail.
“They aren’t asking for proof of life anymore, they’re only speaking to the ransomer.
“That shows there was something in the most recent ransom note [received Friday night] that changed the way they’re responding, at least for now.”
